The receipt of the agreement in the House of Commons ranged from fresh to hostile and the vote was delayed by more than a month. Prime Minister May won a no-confidence motion against her own party, but the EU refused to accept further changes. The transitional period shall not be extended. The United Kingdom has said it does not want an extension. The option of an extension was included in the Withdrawal Agreement. The UK and the EU had until 1 July 2020 to agree on a possible extension.
